The YMCA is hosting a Community Games and partnering with local primary schools to run an athletics event and provide a celebration and thank you for all the local volunteers who helped with last year's Community Games.

Day 4 - Wednesday 22nd May 2013
The event takes place at Perrott Hill School in Crewkerne. The morning involves many local primary schools. The children will all be dressed in yellow t-shirts representing the light in a torch. The ‘Shining Light’ will then be presented with their jersey, possibly by the Mayor.Last year’s Somerset torch bearers have also been invited to be part of the event. The children will be positioned in a carefully crafted photograph to resemble a torch, with the Shining Light in the middle and they will then release yellow balloons. In the afternoon the local community will join in with the Community Games.

Day 5 - Thursday 23rd May 2013
The event will be a celebration of the first year of Community Games in the Wesport area, as well as promoting the opportunities in 2013. Key partners and other invitees will take part in a series of Community Games activity challenges.

Day 6 - Friday 24th May 2013
Taking place at the Cheltenham YMCA Sports and Community Activity Centre, Princess Elizabeth Way, from 6pm - 8pm, the event will include football demonstrations in a mobile cage, a Barbeque, outdoor zumba sessions and face painting and the gym will be open to the public free of charge.

Day 7 - Saturday 25th May 2013
The event, which takes place at Aylburton Village Hall and playing fields, will start with an opening ceremony (hopefully with a real Olympic torch) and a parade around the local village park. This will be followed by a game of rounders for the whole community, 2012 Community Games Organisers and Active Gloucestershire staff and partners.After refreshments and a zumba session, there will be a closing ceremony, during which the Shining Light will be presented with their commemorative jersey.

Day 8 - Sunday 26th May 2013
Alongside an eight mile multi-terrain race in Burghill, there will be a mini Community Games to provide activities for spectators, organised by the Shining Light’s daughter. There were 500 people involved in the first Community Games in Burghill last year, which has inspired more people to get involved in community life.Open to U11s, 11-16 year olds and those 16+, the race starts at 3.00pm, with the presentation to the Shining Light just before at 2.30pm.

Taking place all over Worcester and finishing at the YMCA the local community will be searching for giant letters to form the words "Community Games"
