Sport Nottinghamshire

Sport Nottinghamshire is committed to supporting the promotion of sport and physical activity within the county. Our view is that the Community Games is a great way to engage with local communities to encourage physical activity amongst all ages and to create a link to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games.

Friends of Fisher Lane Park Fun Day

Where:

Fisher Lane

Details:

Coronation Diamond Jubilee Event

Where:

Bilsthorpe Welfare Recreation Ground

Eakring Road, Bilsthorpe

Newark NG22 8SU

Details:

The community event will be opened by the Parish Council Chair, Cllr Andrea Swallow. There will be a range of sports activities to mirror a similar, traditional sports day held in the 1937. The original sports day programme is owned by Bilsthorpe Heritage Society and is being used as a guide to the type of races that were held. There will also be stalls organised by local organisations, play equipment for the children, music etc.

Summer Treasure Hunt

Where:

Thurgarton Cricket Club

Priory Ground, The Hollows, Thurgarton

Nottingham NG14 7GS

Details:

The event will start on the village green and end at the cricket club. Games are located throughout the village. There will be activities for all ages and abilities. The event will include an opening and Closing Ceremony also boule, hoopla, darts, tug of war, (to be confirmed) and drawing, colouring competitions along the way.

Misterton Gala

Misterton Sports & Social Club

Details:

Annual Gala aimed at families and people of all ages in and around the Misterton Area of Bassetlaw. Opening by Parish Councillor and presentations at the end Childrens sports & relays - fencing & paint ball target shooting. The event will be accompanied by Music and local speciality foods will be available. All welcome.
