Active Surrey

Active Surrey is excited to be involved in coordinating Community Games across the county in partnership with Reigate & Redhill YMCA. Together we provide training, advice and support to local people that want to bring the excitement of London 2012 to their neighbourhoods by delivering community-led sport and cultural activities.

Come along to Join in the fun at the Reigate Community Festival and Armed Forces Day on the 29th June 2013. There will be fun activities for all the family including Tug of War and childrens' races. Come and browse the many stalls on display and sit back and enjoy music from local bands, displays from local dance groups and some gymnastics. The event is also celebrating the Armed Forces so there will be military bands and vehicles to look at. The event will be opened by a local dignitary, more details soon!

Details:
Come and join us at our Traditional fair with lots of produce stalls, food and entertainment. There will be a dancing display by the pupils from Merstham Primary School and local Lindy Hop group. There will be china smash, coconut shy, face painting and lots of other games for both adults and children. Gatton Community Theatre Company will also be participating and there will be a treasure hunt around the village. The event will be opened by ....... TBC !

Come and join in this fun event aimed at the Youth of Redhill and surrounding areas. There will be a 5 a side football tournament, climbing wall, baskeball and much more. There will also be displays by the local Redhill & Reigate 150 History Group, youth bands and St John Ambulance. There will also be and opening event in the main arena - details tbc.

This event will take the Girls Brigade into the Community, Recognising 120 years of our National Organisation by arranging a community event in Chobham Recreation Ground. Inviting all to participate, we will be holding a "GB Fest" on Saturday 6th July with various attractions, both sporting and cultural, including entertainment and other local groups to spread the word of what is available in the community. There will be various childrens races happening along with representatives from the local football club doing their stuff !

Come and join us for our 2nd Play & Leisure Consortium fully inclusive Surrey Supercycle around Dunsfold Park, Cranleigh. There will be 3 routes available to choose from on the day, depending on your ability and there will be adapted bikes available to borrow from Wheels for All. There will also be plenty of other entertainment on the day including bouncy castle, face painting, coconut shy, mascot race etc. Food and drinks will also be available throughout the day. £5 registration fee for all cyclists - free entry for all family, friends and supporters!

This event is for the people of St Johns and surrounding area and is open to everyone young and old. Activities will include a slow bicycle race, coffee run (with cold coffee!) a School Run - Buggy Race, as well as Easy cricket and a tug of war. The opening ceremony will be performed by the St Johns Running Club who will be doing a torch relay, there will also be community singing taking place too. There is free car parking and toilet facilities on site. Come along and join in this fun afternoon !

Leisure Live is a showcase of Leisure in Elmbridge and is aimed at the whole community. There will be a range of activities on offer such as: Climbing wall, BMX Display, roller Skiing, hockey, football. There will also be face painting, bouncy castle arts and craft activities and lots more. The event will be opened by the local Mayor and there will also be dance displays taking place.

A youth Festival aimed at 11 - 16 year olds to encourage youths back into sport or to try their hand at something new! There will be local sports clubs providing demonstrations and have a go sessions and lots of club information available. Working with local Police, the local cycle club will be on hand to show some cycle maintenance and demo's of how to use ramps. There will also be plenty of advise for young people on what to expect from college and university, charity volunteering, the diversity of employment roles and what is needed for them to obtain a job.

Come and join in our celebration of Orchard Meadow becoming a Queen Elizabeth II Field as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The Mayor of Spelthorne will lead the celebrations, there will be activities for all ages - historic and nature walks to investigate the hidden gems of the local area, traditional sports day activities and treasure hunt for children. Come and explore Orchard Meadow and the neighbouring walled garden and Sunbury Millenium Embroidery.

Come and join in the fun celebration and Festival of Sport which is open to all! There will be loads of fun taster sessions in a wide variety of sports all provided by local clubs, physios and personal trainers on hand to give you all the right pointers you need to get back into sport. There will also be Theatre and Dance groups performing throughout the day with sessions for all to join in and a closing ceremony towards the end of the day with performances by the theatre and dance groups.
